A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand at The D4 Berkeley Wedding Fair last weekend!
We had a fantastic show with great interest in our new wedding invitation booklets, a great idea for couples getting married abroad or for couples who have allot of guests traveling to their wedding. There was a great buzz at the fair throughout the weekend and what amazing weather! A big congratulations to all the newly engaged couples who attended the show, I was admiring all your really stunning engagement rings.
I was delighted to meet Brendan Courtney, who hosted the event. The D4 Berkeley is a beautiful venue, my mother and father married there years ago when I was 10. Being at the show brought back allot of great memories. The venue is still as sophisticated and elegant as ever, with very friendly staff. The canapes and bubbly were delish! I’m very excited to find out the very lucky winners of the amazing 10K wedding at The D4 Berkeley this week.
There was a great selection of suppliers exhibiting at the fair and it was brilliant to meet everyone and put names to faces. Here’s a small selection of fellow suppliers who were on hand for couples to meet with over the weekend.

I recently completed Carleen and Julian’s wedding stationery. I was delighted to design and print it for them, they were a joy to work with. Carleen and Julian are having a small intimate wedding in Dublin city in June followed by a wedding party at home the following evening. Carleen and Julian chose our Secret Garden wedding suite which we customise by adding fluttering butterflies to the design, a very nice whimsical detail. We designed both wedding and party invitations, RSVP cards and mass booklet covers all of which continue the elegant butterfly summer garden theme.

Carleen chose a dusty pink ink colour to match her sisters bridemaid dress which is complimented with sage green, creating a lovely dusty summery feel. Carleen chose silver envelopes which really compliment the invitations adding more depth to the colour scheme. We blind embossed a butterfly onto the envelope flap, a lovely hint of what’s to come for guests receiving the invitations and also letterpress printed the RSVP envelopes with the return address.

We can customise any of our wedding stationery designs to compliment your wedding style with a choice of ink colours, envelope colours and personalised wording.
I came across Untamed Petals on The Bridal Lounge Blog and instantly fell in love. The designs are so romantic and have a lovely relaxed vintage feel which I love. They are designed and handcrafted by Amanda Gilbert, a very talented designer who also designs corsages and belts.
I had been considering wearing a headpiece for my wedding, I love Jenny Packham’s designs and Jennifer Behr’s beautiful pieces also but having tried some on I just don’t think they suit my very straight hair. Combs and slides simply fall out and headbands are too visible. After seeing these images I am kind of wishing I had wavy hair!

I might ask my bridesmaids if they would like to have one of these hair pieces, they are blond and have wavy hair, I think they’d look beautiful very whimsical!
You can see the full collection on the Untamed Petals online shop, or contact The Bridal Lounge for a Bridal Styling Session where you can try on the different styles.

So now that we have finally set a date for our wedding, July 15th 2011, I have really started thinking about my wedding dress. As most of my regular readers will know I love the vintage Hollywood glamour look. My favourite designer has been Jenny Packham and I was sure I would no doubt choose one of her gowns, I have one specific dress in mind, but I have decided I should look at all possibilities and keep my options open. Now that the bridal Spring 2011 collections have been unveiled I thought I would post a selection of some of the beautiful designs featured on the catwalks.
Jenny Packham, I couldn’t resist featuring theses, what can I say, I’m in love.

Caroline Herrera, very glamorous dresses…

J. Crew, simply beautiful dresses at great prices and I believe that they will soon be shipping to Europe. They also stock a lovely selection of bridesmaids dresses.

Pronovias, these gowns are like works of art, really stunning…

Vera Wang, really elegant, classic dresses with a twist…

.. and so my dress hunt is on.
I was delighted to design and print Claire and Ian’s letterpress wedding stationery. Claire and Ian are getting married in Germany this July. Claire is based in London so via email and phone we discussed all the details of the stationery. Claire had a very specific idea about what style she liked and after considering all the options we designed a customised version of our Rosa wedding stationery suite…

The invitation is folded rather than being a flat card and the colours were chosen to compliment their wedding style. The envelope is printed with a rose motif, a nice detail which is also featured on the inside of the invitation.

“I strongly recommend you use Farrell & Chase for your wedding stationery. I had been let down by another invitation designer and luckily came across Farrell & Chase. Pamela emailed me back straight away and within two days everything was decided upon for our beautiful rose wedding stationery and I received samples super quick even though I’m based in the UK. Pamela is so lovely to deal with and very helpful and responsive, it was a joy working with her. The invites came out really well and were delivered bang on time. We have had so many compliments from our guests, many telling me it was the nicest wedding stationery they have ever seen. I’m delighted that this local business is doing so well, keep up the good work!”

Our letterpress lovebirds featured in our wedding stationery designs have been so popular they have inspired me to look for other ways of incorporating lovebirds into a wedding. Here are a few beautiful ideas I have found…

Whimsical swallow earrings, a lovebird ring bearer nest, quirky blue birdcake topper, elegant white lovebirds cake topper and a lovebird garter all from Etsy and finlally our Lovebird place/seating cards.
They really are beautiful details to add to your wedding.
It’s official we are having the biggest baby boom in 30 years in Ireland at the moment. The number of babies born is a massive 38pc higher than it was at the height of the boom in 2000 and nearly 43pc of births were to first-time mothers. I know I have noticed a baby boom amongst my friends, four beautiful babies born in the last month alone!
So why not congratulate family and friends on their new arrival with the perfect card…
A big congratulations to all the new mummies and daddies from Farrell & Chase!
Fill your day with a sense of french romance and style…

Use duck egg blues and crisp ivory throughout and supply guests with vintage fans during the ceremony.
