Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I was thrilled to collaborated with Christina Brosnan recently on her beautiful Breakfast at Tiffany’s Inspired Love Shoot. I am a huge fan of the film and when Christina explained her ideas for the shoot I knew the results would be brilliant. I designed and printed two signs for the shoot, one with a quote from the film and the other with the lyrics to ‘Moon River’…

MARCHESA SPRING SUMMER 2012 COLLECTION

New York Fashion Week has now come to an end and after all of the unadulterated style inspiration I am taking a look at one of my favourite shows of the week, Marchesa’s ready to wear Spring Summer 2012 Collection. Flapper style fringing, tulle, chiffon and beading resulted in a truly beautiful collection which could be mistaken for vintage pieces…

I just love the Flapper style dress…

So beautifully romantic…

I’m so thrilled to see wedges with these beautiful gowns, the perfect choice for anyone like myself who just can’t wear heels.

What can I say, very daring but wow, walking up the isle in one of these gowns would surely result in ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from your guests.

JENNY PACKHAM SPRING SUMMER 2012 COLLECTION

As my regular readers will know, I’m a huge Jenny Packham fan, I really love her designs, so much so I wore her Papillon gown on my wedding day. I nearly cried taking it off, I felt so amazing wearing it and would love to have the opportunity to wear one of her designs again, a girl can dream!

For now I’ll have to settle for swooning over her Spring Summer 2012 collection, so beautiful…  

I can see a certain princess in this beautiful white lace short dress…

This embroidered full length gown would make a stunning alternative choice for a bride…

What can I say, that red dress, wow!

How To Tie A Bow Tie…

A Gentleman’s Guide. When I saw this illustration by Conor Whelan it immediately made me smile and gave me an idea!

Who knows how to tie a Bow Tie? Not me and not Alan. I remember us fumbling over his bow tie on the way to a friends wedding last Winter, we didn’t have a clue.

If you’re planning a black tie wedding, why not add a little note with instructions on how tie a bow tie when sending your invitations to your guests?

FARRELL & CHASE LOVES DESTINATION WEDDINGS…

As most of you probably know myself and Alan are busy planning our wedding in Rome this Summer. I have been to a few destination weddings both in Italy and Spain and have to say, I love them! Everyone is so relaxed, the sun is shining (hopefully) and the celebration usually extends over a few days allowing you to spend time with friends and family you normally mightn’t get the chance to do so with.

I love seeing real destination wedding for inspiration and getting advice from brides who have planned their own destination weddings. So I thought it would be great if there was a dedicated space where fellow brides planning their dream destination weddings could come to find inspiration and advice and so, flyawaybride.com was born…

I was thrilled to launch Fly Away Bride on February 14th, yes Valentines day, and the feedback and reaction for everyone has been great! An Post have just released the Wedding Stamp Edition for 2011…

A big change from last years very colourful illustrated lovebirds stamp. What are your thoughts do you prefer this years edition?

Following on from my Black Swan post yesterday I have looked at the lighter and prettier side of ballet style for some ballet bridal party fashion inspiration…

Feathered tiaras and whimsical hair accessories are very in right now and compliment the classic ballerina bun perfectly. Some definite trends emerged which I’m sure will influence bridal fashion over the coming year. One trend that can be seen everywhere at the moment and looks like it’s here to stay is vintage elegance, Sandra Bullocks wore a stunning Jenny Packham gown channeling this trend perfectly. Backless dresses were also very popular form the very daring to the more subtle, wow! Another trend that stood out was emerald greens and teal gowns, very striking. I think we’ll be seeing allot of bridesmaids dresses in these vibrant green tones.
